JANUARY 2020
I was amused to see this cartoon on Facebook recently and was inspired to link it to another thing that's been preying on my mind for some time now - the future of the "Animator's Sketchclub"! The question is . . . is it time for our "last call" or is there still a way forward?
MY CHALLENGE:
It's no secret that I've been struggling for many months now to know what to do with our Sketchclub? We have masses of members - which denotes interest in what we do - but hardly anyone in the membership (except for a few wonderful stalwarts who contribute come rain or shine) seems prepared, or inspired, to commit a drawing or animation to it. So I'm throwing it open to suggestions folks . . .
YOUR CHALLENGE:
Technically it is an "ANIMATION" challenge this month, but I'm also prepared to accept a "DRAWING" as an alternative for you. Anyway, with your entry I want you to suggest what a) you would like the Sketchclub to be, or b) what could be added to improve it, or even c) to close it down as it's no longer relevant to you?
I'm open to all suggestions, as long as it doesn't involve a huge amount of extra work for me. But please add a smile to your suggestions - as I believe humor goes a long way to revealing truth. So be imaginative, be creative and above all else be constructive in what you think would make the "Animator's Sketchclub" a more relevant and inspiring place for you.
I'm prepared to keep it going for a while longer yet but I need the ideas and support of all you members out there to convince me it still has value.
Needless to say, I'm looking forward to seeing your visual ideas of "What Happens Next"" in our Sketchclub!
Tony White.
