JANUARY 2020
As you know, the Animator's Sketchclub is going through a significant transformation right now - with the new and improved version taking place in March 2020. To preempt this you'll see our new (but temporary) header on our website and Facebook page for this month. However this IS very much a temporary header - in preparation for the final "facelift" header that will use in March and beyond...
Our temporary header for this month.
YOUR CHALLENGE:
This therefore is an opportunity for members of the Sketchclub to have their "visual" say in what our new look header will be! This month I want you to come up with a DRAWING that shows how you see our new header looking? The temporary one above indicates the requirements that need to be embraced in the new design - that is, i) the previous "winner's name", ii) the "deadline" for the next challenge, iii) the "image the previous winner created" and iv) a "sponsored by" credit. The size of the header is 640 pixels (wide) x 360 pixels (high). We are not necessarily looking for the final artwork at this stage (although if something looks incredible we won't refuse it of course!) just concept ideas. So please contribute your ideas this month, so we have everyone having a say on what our "facelift" looks like.
The MUSEUM of 2D ANIMATION:
By now you will have probably heard of our launch of the online "Museum of 2D Animation" - which, as you'll see above, is now supporting and promoting the Sketchclub. The Museum has been created to not only celebrate the great work of traditional hand-drawn animation in the past but also to train the young talents of the present and hopefully enable them to make films in the future.
The Museum's future development will be entirely made possible through the support of sponsors, advertisers - as well as from donations via our dedicated page on Patreon. So please contribute anything you can, if you share our vision for the future of traditional hand-drawn animation. Sketchclub members might also note that Patreon support at a certain level for a minimum of 1 year entitles you to personal one-on-one mentoring for our Sketchclub work each month!) Full details of the Museum's various activities and objectives can be found through it's website.
Finally, please do be creative with your Sketchclub header designs folks! We really want to see the Sketchclub evolved and flourish in the future, so this "facelift" challenge is very important to our development. Hopefully you'll blow us away with your continued support - as well as through your challenge design drawing this month!
