This month - a CHARACTER DESIGN challenge!
Being a professional animator is not always all about animation! Quite often animators are required to be character designers too. However, if you're working in the professional world the character designs you're required to produce are not always a free choice.. In advertising for example you are required to use existing characters that are designed already - or if working on a TV Series production you may be asked to produce a new character that is compatible with the style of the program your are working on. Design a 'Harry Potter' character in the style of the 'Simpsons'!
Pick one character from any of the Harry Potter movies and re-design them to appear in the style of the Simpsons! Your character should NOT be static however. Your character should take the form of three action poses, seen from different angles. So, for example, your character should be seen in action head on, in profile and from either above or below or from a three-quarter perspective. This will ensure that when you design your character it will be 'animatable' and 'consistent from all angles'. Post your three characters as one file image when you have completed them.
