JUNE 2020
We are each experiencing more than one powerful emotion at the present time for sure. This month's animation challenge is to identify one emotion that you're feeling - and express it using a BIRD character of your own design.
The above frame is from a very badly animated short film about a very good subject - helping us to understand our emotions and deal with them. I do believe however that our Sketchclub members could do a better job with the design and animation here! After all, the ability to animate clear emotion is one of the most important skills an animator needs to have. So . . .
CHALLENGE:
Design your own BIRD character and have it express ONE EMOTION with a short animation exercise. Possibly the best way to be economical in this challenge is to animate a "cycle action" - such as a walk, a run, a punch, or whatever repeated action represents the emotion you wish to feature.
You don't have to consider an animation cycle if you're up for more. However, the cycle concept is the minimum way to achieve an expression of animated emotion.
Include the word that defines your emotion in the video too.
