OCTOBER 2016
HALLOWEEN (All Hallows’ Evening) is a celebration observed in a number of countries on 31 October. Its a time dedicated to remembering the dead. Popularly believed that many Halloween traditions originated from Celtic harvest festivals, which probably have pagan roots, particularly the Gaelic festival Samhain. Halloween activities include trick-or-treating (or the related guising), attending Halloween costume parties, decorating, carving pumpkins into jack-o'-lanterns, lighting bonfires, apple bobbing, divination games, playing pranks, visiting haunted attractions, telling scary stories and watching horror films.
This month’s challenge is to create a drawn animation key pose (or several key poses) that epitomizes the Halloween tradition. We are not looking for simply a character design. Instead, our main interest is to come up with a dynamic pose (or poses) that defines part (or all) of the Halloween tradition. Winning submissions will therefore have dynamic action or exaggerated gestures channelled within them. Characters can be original or derived from existing designs. Just remember that, as we have said many times... ‘The pose is everything!’
So (quite literally) draw on your wildest, most spooky imagination and come up with a single sheet drawing (or drawings) that depicts what you imagine Halloween to be all about.

"Trick-or-treat! Smell my feet. Give me something good to eat!"
Let's raise the dead with our scarily good pose drawings folks! :)
